We verify every first-time rental to protect our fleet and your booking. It's short. Most of the work runs silently in the background while you finish up. Returning customers skip straight to pickup.

The streamlined flow

Default flow for Tier 1 and Tier 2 rentals, which covers most bookings.

    Name, mobile, email, SA ID or passport number. Quick photo of your ID and a live selfie. One consent box covering identity, credit and POPIA.

    Pay & sign

    Card for the deposit pre-authorisation (never charged). Inline rental agreement with a single tap-to-sign. Identity and credit checks finish in parallel, usually done before you tap.

    Residence (Tier 3 & 4 only)

    For cinema, flagship and RED rentals we add a 30-second address step: recent utility bill, bank statement or lease. It's the only extra hurdle for high-value kit.

Deposit pre-authorisation

Held, not charged.

Deposit sizes match the replacement value of the kit. Released the moment the gear is returned in the logged condition.

We only share documents with the providers listed on this page, and only for the verification check itself. Nothing goes to marketing, nothing is sold on. You can request deletion at any time by emailing our Information Officer at hello@stagestudio.co.za.

When we decline

We're honest about the limits.

A decline is never the end of the conversation. We email the reason within an hour and offer alternatives where possible (lower tier, shorter rental, in-person counter review).
